The Irishman looked like he didn’t regret a thing as he stuck both thumbs up as he headed to record The Late Late Show in Dublin.
On the show, Greg was asked about the split and gave a long-winded answer that boils down to – they couldn’t survive the distance.
He claims they have been talking over the last couple of days and ended their relationship over a phone call.
“So we’re mad about each other, what’s not to be mad about? She’s gorgeous, smart funny, she’s the Queen of Love Island for a reason but you need to be realistic about the situation,” he said.
“She lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there, of course she deserves all of it and I decided to come back to Ireland and do my thing here.
“I’m trying to get to the Olympics with the sevens team, I’ve got my law exams coming up so we’re both so jam-packed busy and you need to take these opportunities by the scruff of the neck.
“So we’re kind of just being realistic about the situation and protecting our careers and that’s where we are at the moment.
The professional rugby player had been booked to appear on the show with his ex.
Amber was due to travel over to Ireland earlier today in order to make the appearance with him.
But after their split Amber has remained in the UK and is spending time in London with her best friend Anna Vakili.
The girls headed to a cafe earlier today where Amber was spotted with her head buried in her phone.
Tonight, Amber has enjoyed a girls’ night in with Anna, her sister Mandi and Yewande Biala.
The girls got in their pyjamas and tucked into nachos with all the trimmings.
The Sun Online exclusively revealed earlier today that Amber, 22, has been left devastated after Greg, 24, dumped her by text.
A source told us: “Greg has broken up with Amber and is blaming their busy schedules and now they want to focus on their careers.”
