A man died after overdosing on a pleasure-enhancing drug at a gay sex party hosted by a pensioner.

Nicholas Hadley, 50, joined Robert Jones, 69, at his home for the sordid party days before Christmas last yearafter chatting online.

Jones organised the risqué gathering after ordering sex-enhancer GBL online.

But Mr Hadley overdosed on the drug and died within one hour, reports Bristol Live .

And today Jones was fined £750 with court costs of £275 for supplying a Class C drug.

The pensioner appeared at Bristol Crown Court to admit the offence but declined to comment afterwards.

Sentencing the defendant, Judge Michael Longman said: “You have expressed your regret and remorse as to the terrible outcome.

“I would like to express my own condolences to the family of Mr Hadley.”

James Haskell, prosecuting, said Jones used the website Fab Guys to place an advert in December last year.

“He advertised a house party inviting participants to join him for consensual sexual activity,” Mr Haskell said.

“Nicholas Hadley attended.

“In the early hours of the next morning the defendant called 999, requesting an ambulance.

“Paramedics arrived at 6.50am.

“Sadly Mr Hadley was pronounced dead at 7.30am, despite attempts to resuscitate him.”

Jones, from Longwell Green, Bristol, initially lied to police, saying he spotted a man outside his home who appeared to be drunk and tried to help him, the court heard.

But in a subsequent statement Jones stated he met Mr Hadley and communicated with him about coming to the suburban address.

Mr Haskell said: “He accepted he had given the deceased a Class C drug with his consent.

“The defendant was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

“A post-mortem confirmed death was caused by a large overdose of GBL.

“No negligence was attributed to this defendant.”Continue Reading
