The stars have gone their separate ways just five weeks after meeting on Love Island , with Belle’s pals saying she felt frustrated about the supposed lack of attention he was paying her.
Insiders also claimed the Scottish hunk was more excited about reuniting with Craig David during his recent trip to Ibiza than speaking to Belle.
However, sources close to Anton tell Mirror Online that they’d never been in an official relationship to begin with.
They say Anton and Belle, the daughter of actor Tamer Hassan, had simply been dating and getting to know each other, and that things hadn’t worked out.
Our insider said: “They were dating, they never made it into an official relationship and Anton was always respectful of taking things slowly.
“He was always up front about this because he didn’t want to jump into a relationship without taking some time to date her, which they’ve done.
There are no hard feelings, he thinks she’s a lovely girl, but he’s too busy working 24/7.
“He’s just taken a two day break to Ibiza and then he’s literally working every day for the next few months, so it’s not fair to get into a relationship when he can’t give it the time it deserves.”
Last month, Anton was forced to deny he’d cheated on Belle after a video of him locking lips with a mystery brunette in a nightclub surfaced online.
Anton, now 24, was just 18 when the footage was captured.
But after it went viral on social media and people began to believe he had cheated on Belle, Anton set the record straight.
