Amber Gill has reportedly been dumped from the Dancing On Ice line-up of after show bosses decided they preferred Maura Higgins.
The Love Island winner was hoping to follow the success of Wes Nelson who took the competition by storm after proving popular on the ITV2 dating show.
But it looks like Amber’s fellow Islander Maura might get the nod instead after her appearances as an agony aunt on This Morning swayed the producers towards her, following a great response from viewers.
This will come as a real knock back for Amber, who was hoping that this would be an ideal, high profile, TV fixture that help her reach the next level of popularity for the Geordie girl.
A source told The Sun that Dancing On Ice producers were “going to sign a Love Island star for next year’s series”.
They wanted a female Islander this time after choosing one of the boys in the past couple of series.
The source said that Maura has snatched the spot from Amber due to her “sense of humour and personality”.
Maura has been dating ballroom dancer Curtis Pritchard since they left the villa together at the end of the Love Island series.
The Dancing With The Stars professional has been teaching Maura some dance moves and the source said it was hoped that Curtis “can now teach her more moves, even though she will be on the ice”.
