The star, who played Jon Snow in the HBO fantasy epic, is seen getting emotional as he made a powerful speech to his co-stars and the crew as filming ended.
After filming his final scenes, Kit addressed the group, telling them: “I feel like my heart is breaking. I love this show.”
Kit, 32, takes a second to compose himself as he fights back tears, before he continues: “More than, I think, anything.
“It has never been a job for me. It’s been my life, and this will always be the greatest thing I’ll ever do and be a part of, and you have been just my family.
“I love you for it, and thank you so much.”
The heart-wrenching moment was broadcast in two-hour documentary, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, shortly before Kit checked into a rehabilitation facility to be treated for stress and alcohol use while the final series of the show was airing.
Showrunner DB Weiss also made a speech that left the stars in tears.
He said to Kit: “10 years ago you walked into Nina Gold’s office … and here we are now, your watch has ended..
And it has been a hell of a watch. For us, for these people, and for so many people around the world.
“Thank you for being Jon Snow and thank you more than that for being you.”
It was revealed earlier this week that Kit has checked into luxury Connecticut health retreat Privé-Swiss.
